Andrew Baez, LCSW
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming—kind of like scrolling endlessly and wondering, “Will this person actually get me?” My goal is to make that part easier. I strive to create a space that feels genuine, comfortable, and human—where we can laugh when it fits, talk honestly about the hard stuff, and work together in a practical, meaningful way. At the heart of my work are connection, hope, and communication—values that inspired the name Hope Together Counseling and guide everything I do.
I work primarily with adults navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, and the emotional weight that often shows up in our 30s, 40s, and beyond. Many of my clients are individuals feeling stuck in patterns they don’t like, couples who care deeply about each other but feel disconnected, or people who simply want to enjoy their lives and relationships again. In couples counseling, I help partners slow things down, understand one another more clearly, and rebuild connection, trust, and enjoyment—because relationships shouldn’t feel like constant work with no payoff.
I also have a strong passion for working with individuals struggling with addiction or substance use concerns. I believe deeply that addiction rarely exists in isolation—it’s often connected to underlying emotional pain, mental health struggles, and long-held beliefs about self-worth. Together, we focus not only on sobriety, but on understanding the why behind behaviors, strengthening coping skills, and building a life that feels worth staying present for.
For clients interested in faith-based counseling, I offer a space to explore faith, values, and identity without pressure or judgment. I believe that living in alignment with your values—spiritual or otherwise—can bring clarity, peace, and a deeper sense of contentment. Whether faith is central to your life or something you’re still figuring out, we can explore how it fits into your overall well-being.
I have been working in the mental health field for over seven years with a variety of populations. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Above all, I am dedicated to helping clients leave sessions with a clearer understanding of themselves and practical tools they can actually use in daily life.
And just so you know—I’m human too. I’m a believer in Ted Lasso–level hope, Star Wars–style redemption arcs, Avatar: The Last Airbender balance, and the idea that even messy stories can still have meaningful growth—Marvel-style. Therapy doesn’t have to be cold or overly serious to be effective. If you’re looking for a space that’s supportive, honest, practical, and occasionally allows for a laugh while doing real work, you’re probably in the right place.
